Staci Strauss began working on television commercials after
graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara with
a degree in Fine Arts. She was working as a production designer
when a director named Craig McCord hired her. They’ve worked
together for 15 years on projects as diverse as spot work for
Famous Footwear to a self-financed documentary about a New
Orleans jazz musician living in Provence. She currently heads their
production company, brand new shoes, and her enthusiasm for
a good story still thrives whether at home in Woodstock or early
in the morning in some muddy field.
Craig McCord began his career as a graphic designer producing
album covers for his wayward musician friends. After more than
two decades working as an art director, then creative director at
various advertising agencies, he launched his career as a commercial
director. Over the years he has directed numerous national television
spots. Lately, he’s kept stride with changing technology, moving into
and mastering the art of creatively produced content. In recent
years, he has conceived, directed, shot and edited more than twenty
five films on sustainable food practices. After moving to Woodstock
in 2006, he finally had a chance to unpack his vinyl collection.
